Add an e-lert

  1. Write the e-lert, and have it open in a window.
  2. Log into the site, using the widget at the lower left corner of the main page of the website
  3. If you are a valid user, you will see the 'Submit an article' page.  If you aren't you'll see a different message.  If you think this is incorrect, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  4. Click on the 'Submit an Article' menu item on the left hand menu of the site.  You will see the 'Submit and Article' page.
  5. Type the title of the e-lert in the 'Title' box (use the same format as the e-lert does)
  6. Paste your content in the main window.  Edit out the top line of the e-lert (SCBWI-NM eLERT ...) so it is not duplicated in the final layout (the 'Title' of the article you are writing will already show this above the e-lert)
  7. In the 'Publishing' section, select Section->elert
  8. Click the 'Save' icon in the upper right of the window.
  9. Done

Add an article to the front page

  1. Log into the site, using the widget at the lower left corner of the main page of the website
  2. If you are a valid user, you will see the 'Submit an article' page.  If you aren't you'll see a different message.  If you think this is incorrect, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  3. Click on the 'Submit an Article' menu item on the left hand menu of the site (this menu item only appears if you are logged in).  You will see the 'Submit and Article' page.
  4. Type the title of your article, and type the article in the big box
  5. IMPORTANT:  Leave 'Section' and 'Category' both set to 'Uncategorised' in the 'Publishing' section at the bottom.
  6. IMPORTANT:  Click the 'Yes' button next to 'Show on Front Page' in the Publishing section.
  7. Click the 'Save' icon in the upper right of the window.
  8. Done
  9. If you've made a mistake, and don't want the article published:
    1. Navigate to the front page
    2. click on the 'pad of paper' icon at the upper left corner of the title of your artcle
    3. click 'No' in the 'Published' line in the 'Publishing' section at the bottom of the edit page
    4. Click the 'Save' icon in the upper right of the window
    5. Done.  Note that if you are still logged in, the article will appear on the front page, but will be greyed out or have a different colored background that 'Published' articles.  Once you log out, you will no longer see these unpublished articles.
    6. If you want the article deleted entirely, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
